Lead the Floor at Olive Yu
We’re looking for someone who can do more than just sell.
If you love jewellery, have a sharp eye for presentation, and know how to inspire a team, this is your moment. As our Senior Sales Lead, you’ll take charge of the showroom—owning the customer experience, driving sales, and keeping the space as beautiful and thoughtful as the pieces we create.
You’ll work closely with the founder, production, and marketing teams to make sure bestsellers are always in stock, displays are on point, and every customer walks away smiling.
Fluent English and retail experience are a must. Leadership mindset required.

About the Residency
We’re inviting one talented jeweller to join Olive Yu in Ahangama, Sri Lanka, for a 1 - 3 month creative residency. You'll gain full access to our professional studio—including casting equipment, polishing tools, and our carefully sourced gemstones—and collaborate with our team to develop and create a limited capsule collection.
Olive Yu is a modern jewellery brand known for combining Sri Lankan craftsmanship with bold, contemporary design. Our studio sits just steps from the sea, in a laidback surf town buzzing with energy, creativity, and a vibrant mix of local and international makers.
This residency is ideal for a jeweller who’s excited to explore new inspiration, share their skills, and build something unique in a collaborative environment.
What’s Included
- Private Accommodation – Stay in a peaceful home with A/C, your own ensuite, and access to a pool.
- Meals - Daily lunch provided at the workshop
- Studio Access – Use our full jewellery workshop including casting machines, polishing tools, hand tools, torches, and a photography station.
- Gemstone & metal (silver & brass) Supply – Work with our collection of locally sourced sapphires and other Sri Lankan gems.
- Collection Collaboration – Create a capsule jewellery collection in partnership with Olive Yu. You keep the design credit, and we cover materials.
- Showcase & Sales Opportunity – Your collection will be displayed and sold in our Ahangama store and online, with a profit-share structure.
- Skills Exchange – Share your knowledge with our team through informal sessions or demonstrations (e.g., stone setting, wax carving, design development).
- Immersive Experience – Join a lively community of creatives, from surfers and designers to chefs and artists.
Requirements
- Strong bench skills and experience making jewellery independently
- Familiarity with casting, wax carving, or stone setting preferred
- Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with our team
Portfolio showing your design style and technical skill - Open-minded, easygoing, and respectful of Sri Lankan culture
What You’ll Do
- Design and create a 5–8 piece jewellery collection during your residency
- Work closely with our team to explore new techniques and refine your ideas
- Draw inspiration from your surroundings and incorporate Sri Lankan elements into your designs
- Engage in a mutual exchange of skills and ideas with our team of in-house jewellers.
- See your collection sold and promoted through Olive Yu, with full credit given to you as the designer
Cost & Compensation
There is no fee to join the residency.
We provide:

You’re responsible for:
