Accountant / Junior Accountant, Ahangama

Position: Full Time (6 days/week)

We are looking for an Accountant or Junior Accountant to join our growing team across two companies: a retail jewellery brand and a manufacturing workshop. You will handle the day-to-day accounting, work closely with our external accounting firm, and keep our financial records clean, organised, and accurate.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-focused, trustworthy, and confident working both independently and with a small team. You must be able to travel between Ahangama and Hiriketiya, communicate clearly, and manage sensitive financial information with care.

About the Role

We’re looking for a committed and accurate Accountant to support our retail store and jewellery workshop. You will manage receipts, reconciliations, payroll preparation, weekly consignee payments, and monthly reporting. You will visit our Hiriketiya store once a week and work from our Ahangama office for the rest of the week.

You will assist with the upcoming company split into retail and manufacturing, working with our external accounting firm to ensure a smooth transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record receipts and expenses
  • Weekly visit to Hiriketiya
  • Daily and weekly account updates
  • Maintain records for both companies
  • Prepare payroll
  • Prepare EPF, ETF, and PAYE summaries for the accounting firm
    Reconcile sales reports, bank accounts, CEFT, card machines, and petty cash
  • Handle weekly consignee reports and payments
  • Prepare monthly P&L, cash flow, and management reports
  • Support the company split
  • Keep documents organised for the accounting firm
  • Maintain confidentiality

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • AAT or accounting diploma preferred
  • Good English and communication skills
  • Strong organisation and accuracy
  • Basic understanding of Sri Lankan accounting practices
  • Comfortable travelling between Ahangama and Hiriketiya
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and ready to learn
