Refund & Returns Policy
We want you to love your Olive Yu piece, but if something’s not quite right, here’s how we handle it.
We have a 14-day return policy for change of mind on eligible jewellery (store credit only), and a 6-month repair/refund policy for genuine faults on sterling silver and gold jewellery. Different rules apply for stainless steel jewellery and clothing

To start a return
Email us at hello@oliveyu.com with your order number and reason for return. We’ll get back to you with instructions. To issue a warranty repair/refund we require a high quality image of the problem into order to determine what is at fault.

Items sent back without contacting us first will not be accepted.
Eligibility for Return
To be eligible for a return, your item must:

Be unworn or unused

Be in the same condition you received it

Include original packaging and proof of purchase

Be a non-custom, full-priced item
If you’re returning an item due to change of mind, you will need to cover your own return shipping costs, and the original shipping fee will not be refunded or credited. Store credit will apply to the value of the product only.
Jewellery: What's covered, what's not
Custom pieces are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Sale items are final sale. If you’ve had a change of heart, you can return full-priced, non-custom pieces within 14 days for store credit only.
We stand behind our craftsmanship. If your jewellery has a genuine manufacturing fault, we’ll offer a repair or refund within 6 months of purchase.
We offer one free in-store ring resize. We can’t exchange items for incorrect sizing, so please choose carefully.
❌ What is not considered a fault
Jewellery is delicate by nature. The following issues are common signs of wear and not considered manufacturing defects:

Tarnishing or oxidisation from exposure to air, sweat, perfume, soaps, or water

Scratches, dents, and soft bends caused by normal wear

Gemstones loosening or falling out due to impact or daily wear

Broken chains, clasps, or bands from accidental pulling, catching, or force

Discolouration or skin reactions, including green marks from brass or tarnished areas near solder joins

Fading of plating, especially on high-contact items like rings
-
Improper storage, such as keeping jewellery in damp places or jumbled with other items
-
Modifications or repairs made by another jeweller or third party
-
Natural variations in handmade pieces—no two are identical, and that’s exactly the point
We’re always happy to help with guidance, and paid repairs may be available if your piece needs a little TLC.
Stainless Steel Jewellery
Returns accepted within 2 weeks for store credit if unworn.
Faulty items can be refunded or replaced within 30 days.
Clothing
No returns or exchanges for change of mind.
Faulty clothing may be returned within 30 days.
International Orders
Due to strict shipping regulations in Sri Lanka, international returns and repairs may not be possible. In these cases, we may recommend working with a trusted local jeweller in your home country. We’ll always support you with advice where we can.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your item as soon as it arrives. If it’s damaged, faulty, or incorrect, contact us immediately at hello@oliveyu.com so we can make it right.
Exchanges
We don’t offer direct exchanges. If you’d like a different item, please return the original (if eligible) and make a new purchase after your return is processed.
Refunds
Once we’ve received and inspected your return, we’ll let you know if it’s approved. If so, you’ll be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note your bank or card provider may take additional time to process it.
