AHANGAMA, SRI LANKA

Stay Inside a Working Jewellery Studio in Ahangama

A creative hideaway in Ahangama where jewellery, art, surf culture and community collide

Studio Olive is a creative space hidden inside a 150-year-old courtyard bungalow in Ahangama, Sri Lanka. What began as a working jewellery workshop gradually evolved into a stay for travellers looking for something more personal than a hotel. Built around handmade jewellery, shared spaces, and slow tropical living, the house has become a place where surfers, artists, creatives, and curious people passing through Sri Lanka’s south coast come together.

Designed for creative travellers chasing community, culture and slow tropical living.

Today, guests stay inside our historic courtyard home while jewellers work downstairs crafting pieces entirely by hand. The atmosphere is communal, relaxed, and deeply tied to slow living. Mornings begin with coffee in the courtyard, while afternoons drift between the beach, the workshop, and long conversations in the shared kitchen. Some guests come for the surf. Others come for the jewellery classes. Many end up staying for the feeling.

The house is designed around shared spaces and creative living, with guests constantly moving between the studio, the beach, and the calm rhythm of the bungalow itself.
