Wax Carving & Lost Wax Casting Workshop — 2-Day Advanced Jewellery Experience
Take your jewellery skills further with our advanced wax carving and lost-wax casting workshop — exclusive to Olive Yu Jewellery in Ahangama.
This two-day class gives you full creative control. Carve, cast, and finish your own design in sterling silver under the guidance of professional jewellers. Each session runs for two hours per day.
Please note that the day you book will be the date of your first session.
What You’ll Do
Day 1 – Wax Carving (2 hrs)
- Design and sculpt your piece from jeweller’s wax
- Learn carving and build-up techniques for shape and texture
- Prepare your wax for overnight casting
Day 2 – Casting & Metal Finishing (2 hrs)
- Watch your wax transformed into solid silver
- File, sand, and polish your piece to perfection
- Have a go at setting your own gemstone (guided by a jeweller — breakages must be paid for)

LKR 22,000 per person
Add-Ons
- If you require more than 8g of silver, you may purchase on the day (prices fluctuate)
- Extra gemstone settings LKR 2,000 each
- Upgrade to 14 ct or 18 ct gold — contact us for current rates
- Purchase gemstones on the day (range from 400rs to 400,000 so we can guide to to selecting within your budget)
How to Book
- Wait a moment for the page to fully load.
- Click “Schedule your time” to view the calendar and select your date and time.
- Please select “don’t add to cart” — this won’t reserve your place.
- Once booked, you’ll receive an email with payment options (bank transfer or card).
- A 50% deposit is required within 12 hours to confirm your booking. If we don’t receive the deposit in time, your spot will be automatically cancelled. During high season we are super busy and even have a waitlist; we hate to be so strict but with only 8 seats per class we need to keep it fair.
Between December and April (high season), this policy is strictly enforced as classes sell out fast.
In low season, we can be more flexible — reach out if you need to shuffle dates.
